Attendance / Leave Policy for Students
The following attendance and leave policies are established to ensure that students maintain consistent participation in academic activities at Indian College of Education for Women, Arur:
Students are expected to maintain *100% attendance* throughout the academic year. However, a minimum of *85% attendance* is required for each semester. Falling below this threshold may result in consequences related to eligibility for exams and other academic activities.
Students who achieve *100% attendance* in any semester will be awarded a special prize in recognition of their dedication and commitment to their academic responsibilities.
Leave taken for health reasons or absence due to participation in *co-curricular* or *extracurricular activities* (such as sports or cultural events) will be considered, but it should be limited to *15%* of total attendance.
Students must submit a *leave letter* signed by their *parents or guardian* to the attendance coordinator *before availing leave*. The leave request must be submitted in advance to ensure proper documentation of the student's absence.
Students may avail *on-duty leave* for up to *10 days per academic year*. This leave is granted for participation in events such as inter-institutional competitions, sports, paper presentations, or project work related to the institution or university.
For on-duty leave, students must submit the on-duty leave form *in advance*, duly signed by the tutors of the respective department. This ensures that the leave is properly documented and approved by the concerned authorities.
Permission to leave the college premises during working hours will only be granted by the *Principal*, upon recommendation from the attendance coordinator. The student must make a specific request and provide a valid reason for leaving.
If a student is absent for more than three days due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, the leave must be supported by proper *medical or official documents*. The supporting documents should be submitted along with the leave letter when the student returns to the college.
These policies ensure that students maintain regular attendance while providing clear guidelines for leave in case of genuine reasons. By adhering to these rules, students contribute to the smooth operation of academic activities.
