Code of Conduct for Students - General Rules

At Indian College of Education for Women, Arur, students are expected to uphold a high standard of behavior, responsibility, and discipline. The following general rules outline the expectations and regulations for all students to maintain an effective learning environment and uphold the college's reputation:

Admission Policy - Admission to the college is strictly based on merit, in accordance with the rules, regulations, and verification process of Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU), Chennai. The decision of the Admission Committee is final and binding.


Submission of Original Certificates - During the time of admission, students must submit all original certificates. These certificates will be retained by the college throughout the training period and will not be returned mid-course.


College Working Hours - The college operates from *9:45 AM to 4:30 PM. Students are required to be punctual and attend all scheduled classes during these hours. The institution follows a **day order system* for its academic schedule.


Classroom Conduct - Students are not permitted to leave the classroom during lectures without a valid *out pass*. Faculty members and the administration monitor this rule strictly to maintain classroom discipline.


Punctuality and Attendance - Students must arrive at the college on time. Latecomers will not be admitted into class unless they present an attendance slip from the Principal. Attendance is marked for each period, and the consolidated attendance is sent to the university.


Participation in Camps and Unit Tests - Participation in *camp activities* and *unit tests* is mandatory for all students. No relaxation or exemption will be granted under any circumstances.


Use of Mobile Phones and Electronics - The use of mobile phones or any other electronic gadgets is prohibited during class hours. Students are expected to focus entirely on academic activities during lectures.


Behavior in and Around College Premises - Shouting, whistling, running, or engaging in loud conversations in or around the corridors of the college is strictly forbidden. Students are expected to maintain a quiet and respectful demeanor at all times.


Care of College Property - Students must take care of the college’s property. Scratching, damaging, or defacing desks, chairs, walls, or any other college property is not allowed. Any damage caused, whether by accident or mistake, should be reported immediately to the class in-charge or the Principal.


Responsibility for Damaged Property - Students who damage college property will be required to repair or replace the damaged items and will also be fined. The concerned student will be held financially responsible for any such incidents.


Permission for Project Materials - Students must obtain prior permission from the administration to bring personal materials or tools into the college for academic projects. Additionally, they must acquire a gate pass to take these materials out of the campus.


Prohibition of Bullying - Bullying of any kind is *strictly prohibited* on campus. Any act of bullying will be dealt with severely, and no such behavior will be tolerated.


Submission of Academic Work - Students must submit acknowledgments, consent forms, class assignments, assessments, or any other documents to the relevant in-charge within the stipulated deadline.


Behavior and Gestures - Students are expected to maintain appropriate behavior and gestures while on the college premises. Any inappropriate or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.


Use of Internet - The internet is to be used *solely for educational purposes*. Students must refrain from using it for any non-academic activities during college hours.


Amendments to Rules - The rules and regulations of Indian College of Education for Women are subject to change from time to time. Students are expected to comply with any new or updated rules as directed by the college administration.
