Punctuality and Attendance Guidelines for Faculty

At Indian College of Education for Women, Arur, punctuality and consistent attendance are critical to maintaining the high standards of education and professionalism that the institution upholds. The following guidelines outline the expectations regarding punctuality and attendance for all faculty members:

Reporting Time and Availability

Faculty members are required to report for duty on time as per the working hours prescribed by the institution. The standard working hours are from *9:30 AM to 4:30 PM*, Monday to Saturday. Faculty should remain available on campus during these hours unless they have been assigned official duties elsewhere by the administration. Adhering to these timings ensures the smooth functioning of academic activities and reflects the commitment of faculty towards their professional responsibilities.

Work Schedule

The college operates on a six-day work week, from *Monday to Saturday*. However, in cases of institutional exigencies or special circumstances, the management reserves the right to extend the working hours or work week as necessary. Faculty members are expected to cooperate and fulfill these additional responsibilities as part of their professional obligations.

Submission of Original Certificates

Upon joining the institution, faculty members are required to submit their *Original Qualifying Certificates* as part of the verification process. These certificates will remain with the institution for the duration of employment and will be returned to the faculty upon their formal relieving from duty at the end of their tenure.

Attendance Recording

Faculty members must sign the *attendance register* promptly upon reporting for duty each day. This is an essential part of the institutional record-keeping process and ensures accountability for each staff member's presence during working hours. Regular attendance is crucial to maintain a consistent academic schedule for students.

Presence on Campus

Faculty members are expected to remain on campus for the entire duration of the working hours, from *9:30 AM to 4:30 PM*. Leaving the campus before the end of the college hours without prior permission from the Principal or management is strictly prohibited, as it may disrupt academic activities and student support services.

Completion of the Semester

Faculty members are required to complete the academic semester in its entirety before seeking to leave or be relieved from their duties. Leaving the institution mid-semester is not permitted under any circumstances, as this can negatively affect students' progress. Faculty members will only be relieved at the end of the semester, after fulfilling all academic duties, including completing the syllabus, evaluations, and other related responsibilities.

By adhering to these guidelines, faculty members will contribute to the effective operation of the institution, ensuring that students receive uninterrupted and high-quality education. Punctuality and attendance are key indicators of professionalism, and these standards reflect the values and expectations upheld at Indian College of Education for Women.
